The original:
Johnny Cash, being pensive but straightforward as he often was,
Or, this guy, who gives it soul?

I had to go with the original. Neil Young doesn’t have the best singing voice but it seems to fit better with that song than the other two.

I heard the Charles Bradley version for the first time this morning on my “Saint Paul and the Broken Bones,” Pandora station. I like when musicians take a cover and make it their own.

Absolutely. If you’re going to do a cover then add something unique to it or you’re just wasting everybody’s time.

The band just ruins the Johnny Cash version, his voice with Niel Young guitar work would be pretty awesome. Also Jimi Hendrix is the master of covers.
